Management

George Gaukler
President

With 40 years of being involved in all aspects of real estate development, management and sales George Gaukler bring tremendous experience to the Dakota REIT Team. Mr. Gaukler organized Dakota REIT in 1997 as the sponsor and is currently the advisor to the Trust. Mr. Gaukler is a licensed real estate broker in North Dakota.

Mr. Gaukler is a 1962 graduate of Valley City State College. In 1964 he formed Valley Realty, Inc., a real estate development company, which now includes rental management services, real estate sales, land development and construction, of which he is the majority stockholder, president and CEO. Since then Mr. Gaukler has been involved in the development and construction of multi-family apartments and commercial properties throughout North Dakota. The Property Management Division of Valley Realty, Inc. currently manages 2,500 apartment units and commercial property in North Dakota. Mr. Gaukler is the majority stockholder, president and CEO of Hi-Line Construction, Inc., which was organized to build housing and commercial construction in the bonded and bidding market.

Jim Knutson
Executive Vice President

Mr. Knutson graduated from Valley City State University with a BS in Business Education in 1970. He joined Valley Realty, Inc. in 1975, and is its Vice President. His real estate experience encompasses leasing, property management, finance, development, and construction of multi-family apartments and commercial properties. He also prepares due diligence financial review of prospective investment properties for The Dakota REIT. Mr. Knutson is a licensed real estate broker in North Dakota.

Tammy Hauck
Chief Operating Officer / Vice President

Ms. Hauck graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a BS in Business Administration and from Concordia College with a certification in Health Care Management in 1987. Since the late 1980s Ms. Hauck has managed and developed real estate. A particular expertise is marketing and sales. Ms. Hauck has practiced real estate in New York and North Dakota (current real estate license). She joined Dakota REIT in 2007 with extensive real estate development and management experience throughout the United States.

James Haley
CPA, Chief Financial Officer / Vice President

Mr. Haley graduated from Central Missouri State University with a BS in Accounting in 1992. He received his CPA license from the State of Missouri in April of 1993, and worked in the public accounting field as an auditor with an emphasis in banking and construction company audits until 1995. In 1995, he moved to Fargo, North Dakota, and started working in the real estate development and construction industry in the Fargo area. He has experience in accounting administration, property management, construction supervision, and land development. He is currently a licensed CPA in the State of North Dakota and holds a real estate license in the State of North Dakota.

Mark Richman
Business Development

Mr. Richman graduated from North Dakota State University in Business Economics and began work in commercial real estate in 1976. From 1988 through 2010 he worked with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate in Fargo. Mr. Richman is a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and a CPM (Certified Property Manager). Both designations are given by the National Association of Realtors upon completions of a series of coursework, demonstration reports, documented transaction and comprehensive exams.

His business concentration has dealt with innovative land and property use. He is experienced in site selection, development, leasing, property management, brokerage, and investment counseling.

Mr. Richman has been involved with the planning, development and marketing of several land developments and commercial building projects for clients. In his role with Dakota REIT, he works to identify investment properties to be added to the REIT and with clients who can benefit from utilizing a tax deferred UPREIT transaction.

Natasha Kemmer
Shareholder Relations

Mrs. Kemmer graduated from Minnesota State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Since graduating, she has taught in a variety of classrooms working with children ages 18 months to 3 years old. While attending school, Mrs. Kemmer worked at MeritCare, now Sanford, as an Office Specialist and assistant to the Coordinator of Workplace Drug Analysis Services. She provided customer service for the employers and employees of companies participating in drug screens. Mrs. Kemmer joined the Dakota REIT team in 2011 as part of the shareholder relations team.
